Tottenham scored either side of half-time as they cruised to a comfortable victory over fellow high-flyers Fulham at White Hart Lane.
Peter Crouch put them in the lead in the first half after some poor defending from Fulham, before David Bentley scored via a deflection from a free-kick on a rare start for the midfielder.
Fulham were boosted before kick off with the news that Bobby Zamora was fit to start after recovering from a broken collarbone.
Roy Hodgson's side rarely troubled Spurs though and the result leaves them with just one away win all season.
Meanwhile Harry Redknapp's side remain in fourth in the Premier League and move three points clear of Liverpool.
Tottenham were forced into a late change to their starting line-up with Bentley replacing Nico Kranjcar who was taken ill before kick off. Spurs started well though with Tom Huddlestone testing Mark Schwarzer with two low drives in the opening minutes.
The home side continued to put pressure on Fulham's goal with Crouch heading wide, however, the visitors soon threatened when Zoltan Gera poked the ball through to Zamora who was denied by Heurelho Gomes.
Spurs took the lead before the half hour though when Schwarzer failed to punch Bentley's cross clear before Luka Modric stole the ball from Bjorn Helge Riise on the byline and crossed for Crouch to turn into the net.
Fulham continued to work the ball well in midfield after going behind but couldn't find the decisive pass in the final third.
Tottenham continued to look dangerous though and Modric went close to doubling their lead before half-time when he hit a curling shot that shaved the top of the bar.
Fulham continued to struggle after the break with only Damien Duff testing Gomes with a long range effort.
And they found themselves 2-0 down on the hour mark when Bentley's curling free kick from the left was deflected past Schwarzer by Riise on the edge of the Fulham wall.
Spurs began to dominate possession after their second goal and only an interception from Brad Hangeland prevented Jermain Defoe from converting Vedran Corluka's low cross from six yards out.
Hodgson's side continued to play a neat and concise passing game in midfield, but they couldn't find a way past Tottenham's defence, whilst wasting a number of opportunities from set pieces.
Spurs always looked comfortable and played the rest of the game out to secure an important victory after disappointing results against Liverpool and Leeds.
