The memoirs of the former prime minister Tony Blair are due to be published in September, his publishers have said.
The book, entitled The Journey, is reported to have been written personally by Mr Blair without the use of a ghost writer and describes his years as British prime minister from 1997 to 2007.
Commenting on the book, Mr Blair said: "I have really enjoyed the writing of the book. I have tried to write a book which describes the human as much as the political dimensions of life as prime minister.
"Though necessarily retrospective, it is an attempt to inform and shape current and future thinking as much as an historical account of the past.
"Most of all I want readers to have as much pleasure reading it as I had writing it."
Publication of the memoirs has been delayed until after the general election, with publishers Random House saying the book is "frank, open, revealing and written in an intimate and accessible style".
Mr Blair is expected to embark on a worldwide tour later in the year to publicise the book.
