The first ever official midweek chart has been released, with Tinie Tempah on course to stay atop the singles charts and Gorillaz set for a number one album.
The first Official Chart Update show that last week's number one artist in the singles chart, Tinie Tempah, is on course to retain the top spot this weekend with his debut single Pass Out.
Rihanna's Rude Boy remains in second in the midweeks, but could be overtaken by Justin Bieber's new single Baby, with less than ten per cent difference in the songs' sales figures.
The race for the top spot in the album charts is also close, with Gorillaz' Plastic Beach currently in pole position but only five per cent ahead of Boyzone's new album Brother.
Martin Talbot, managing director of the Official Charts Company, commented: "With Gorillaz and Boyzone battling it out in the albums chart, and Rihanna under severe pressure from Justin Bieber, there is all to play for this week.
"Highlighting these battles is exactly what the Official Chart Update is all about. It looks set to be an exciting week ahead."
