Hull City have completed the signing of Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard on a four-year contract for a club-record fee of £5 million.
The 30-year-old, who earned his first call-up to an England international squad last year, has completed his switch to the KC Stadium after agreeing terms on a deal until 2013.
Bullard will not be eligible for this weekend's FA Cup fourth round tie against Millwall, but could come into contention to make his Hull debut at West Ham United in midweek.
Speaking about his new signing, manager Phil Brown said: "We're trying to improve a squad that has been competing in the Premier League and that just needed a bit of bolstering.
"I think this signing shows everybody just how serious [chairman] Paul Duffen, myself and Hull City are with regards to this year's Premier League.
"Jimmy is a good player, end of story."
Bullard is the second signing made by Hull on Friday, with loanee Kamil Zayatte making his temporary switch into a permanent one.
Zayatte, who arrived at the club last summer, completes his move from Swiss side BSC Young Boys after signing a contract to keep him at the KC Stadium until at least 2012.
