A woman taken to hospital from Tiger Woods' Florida home has been identified as his mother-in-law.
Barbro Holmberg was taken to Health Central hospital in Ocoee on Tuesday morning, health officials confirmed.
Hospital spokesman Dan Yates said in a statement to the press the mother of Woods' wife Elin Nordegren has been admitted suffering from stomach pains but was now in a stable condition.
TV footage had showed her being wheeled on a stretcher into the hospital in Orange County.
A spokesperson for the Orange County fire rescue service has earlier confirmed to the Associated Press news agency that medics had responded to an overnight emergency call from the Isleworth community and an adult had been taken to hospital.
The incident comes just days after Woods, the first billionaire sportsman, issued an apology for letting down his family and his "personal sins".
The golfer's private life has become subject to intense media speculation after he was found bleeding and semi-conscious in his car after hitting a tree and a fire hydrant outside his home in Florida.
Since the accident a number of women have claimed to the press that they have had affairs with the married father-of-two.
