Manchester United are reported to on the verge of making yet another attempt to bring Gareth Bale to Old Trafford, after failing to tempt the Welsh star three years ago.
The Premier League champions previously attempted to sign Bale from Southampton, but the left-sided player instead chose to move to Tottenham.
United are rumoured to be still keen on the Welshman and a transfer figure of around £20 million has been suggested today.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Juventus are reportedly ready to offer Arsenal their goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and Felipe Melo in return for Robin van Persie.
The Italian side are also, once again, linked with Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez today, with speculation the club has started building his backroom staff ahead of his departure from Anfield.
Big-spending Manchester City have also been linked to Liverpool's star striker Fernando Torres today.
The Spanish striker - currently injured and a doubt for this summer's World Cup - is believed to be part of City's summer spending plans, with a transfer fee of around £60 million suggested.
City were yesterday linked to Benfica's star winger Angel di Maria. However, today its Real Madrid's turn to be mentioned as the likely destination for the Argentinean this summer.
