Lilian Thuram appears to be lining up a move to Spanish giants Barcelona as Juventus' faint hopes of hanging onto the majority of their top players fade.
The French full-back, along with Italian international and fellow Bianconeri star Gianluca Zambrotta, has been heavily linked with a switch to the European champions in the Spanish press.
World Cup winner Thuram has moved to hasten a potential transfer by telling the Catalan press of his admiration for the Nou Camp outfit.
When pressed on the rumours by the El Mundo Deportivo newspaper he was guarded, but admitted to being "very excited" by the prospect of appearing in the claret and blue.
"I feel, at this stage, that I can not say too much as I still have to speak to Juve," he added.
Should the move go through, Thuram would follow former team-mates Fabio Cannavaro and Emerson from the Old Lady to La Liga.
The pair joined former coach Fabio Capello, who left Juventus just before the match-fixing verdict that condemned the club to Serie B, at Barca's arch-rivals Real Madrid on Wednesday.
It is not all doom and gloom at the Stadio Delle Alpi however with new boss Didier Deschamps handed a boost with the news that Gianluigi Buffon is set to resist offers and stay at the club.
