Chelsea captain John Terry has signed a new five-year contract.
The new deal will keep the England captain at Stamford Bridge until 2014 and finally ends speculation surrounding the player.
Terry was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City over the summer with Mark Hughes making two bids for the Chelsea captain.
City's bids were rejected, however Terry's silence on the matter sparked rumours he was considering his future at Stamford Bridge due to the club's lack of activity in the transfer market.
However, after talks with Roman Abramovich Terry confirmed in July he would be staying with the London club.
He said: "What is clear to me following those discussions is that Chelsea's ambition remains as high as ever.
"Another important factor was knowing that Chelsea would be securing key current players for the long term."
Terry has now confirmed this commitment by signing a new contract which could keep the defender at Stamford Bridge until the end of his career.
A statement on the club's website said: "This reaffirms both John's and Chelsea's long stated desire for John to be at Stamford Bridge for the rest of his playing career."
