John Terry made the girlfriend of an England team-mate pregnant and paid for her to have an abortion, it has been alleged.
Revelations about the Chelsea captain's private life have been expected since a so-called 'super injunction' banning the publication of claims was overturned on Friday.
And Terry''s future as England captain has been further thrown into question by new claims from the News of the World about Terry's adulterous relationship with Vanessa Perroncel, the now ex-girlfriend of Terry's England team-mate Wayne Bridge.
The paper reports Perroncel, the mother of Bridge's three-year-old son, became pregnant during her affair with married father-of-two Terry.
The Chelsea player was reportedly at Perroncel's bedside after the procedure in a private clinic and later gave her a gift of £20,000 to "cheer herself up".
Though Terry's club coach Carlo Ancelotti has stressed the defender will remain as captain at Stamford Bridge, many media outlets claim England coach Fabio Capello may strip Terry of the skipper's armband before the World Cup this summer.
Perroncel, 33, is quoted as saying former Chelsea player Bridge - now at Manchester City - only discovered her relationship with Terry after the latter's legal bid to prevent publication of the story.]
"Wayne rang me last weekend and started shouting at me and accusing me of having an affair," she said.
"It was terrible. He was saying horrible things. Wayne was convinced I had been cheating on him because the court action had been taken. It was an agonising call and he was furious."
In a statement released on Saturday, Bridge said only: "My primary concern is the welfare of my son. Therefore, I intend to make no comment whatsoever either now or in the future about these reports."
