England captain John Terry has vowed to do all he can to keep under-pressure coach Steve McClaren at the England helm with a win in the team's Euro 2008 qualifier against Estonia on Wednesday.
"We need to go there and get a win. It is as simple as that. We are fully behind the manager and we are going to do our best to keep him in his job," the Chelsea centre-back said.
But the defender admitted that should he and his teammates slip up in Tallinn, it could spell the end for the former Middlesbrough boss.
"Will there be a question mark over him if England lose? Possibly. But we are not thinking like that," he said.
England's friendly against Brazil tomorrow is likely to mark the international return of Terry's predecessor as captain, David Beckham.
The Real Madrid midfielder has fought his way back into favour with both club and country thanks to a string of impressive performances in La Liga.
And Terry insists that he was a strong advocate for the return of the LA-bound star.
"I had a few chats with Steve McClaren about it and the form he has been in has been exceptional of late, since he came back from his injury, and it could not go unnoticed.
"[McClaren] has brought him in and rightly so," he added.
