US singer Taylor Swift has dominated the annual Country Music Awards (CMAs), taking home four prizes including the coveted entertainer of the year trophy.
The Love Story star, 19, became the youngest-ever winner of the ceremony's top award and was the surprise recipient of the Female Vocalist of the Year prize, with show co-host Carrie Underwood the pre-awards favourite.
Swift also claimed the Music Video of the Year and Album of the Year awards at the Nashville ceremony.
"This album is my diary, and so to all the people who voted for me for this, thank you for saying that you like my diary," she said after claiming the Album of the Year award for Fearless. "That's the nicest thing, the nicest compliment."
In a tongue-in-cheek reference to Kanye West's interruption of her acceptance speech at the recent MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), Swift joked: "And I want to thank everybody in the room tonight for not running up on the stage during my speech."
Underwood's co-host Brad Paisley was named Male Vocalist of the Year for the third consecutive time while Lady Antebellum won the Vocal Group of the Year award and the best single prize for I Run To You.
Swift opened the show with a performance of Forever and Always while Jamey Johnson and Kenny Chesney performed with Kid Rock and Dave Matthews respectively.
