Teddy Sheringham has insisted Alan Pardew is the right man to guide West Ham away from relegation trouble.
The 40-year-old scored the opener in Sunday's vital 2-1 win against Blackburn which saw the Hammers end their eight-game losing streak and move out of the drop zone.
West Ham have London derbies against Arsenal and Chelsea in two of their next three fixtures in their bid to beat the drop.
Sheringham, who bagged his 272nd league goal against Rovers, said the Hammers should not bring in a new manager.
"Alan is definitely the right man for this club, he's done a great job under extremely difficult conditions at times," he said.
"I heard the crowd singing the manager's name at the start and that was really good. You want positive support and that filters through to the players, helps you relax.
"This was a massive game. If we had got beaten it would have been a big task. With that result though, we can get together a little bit now and try and look after each other."
Meanwhile, skipper Nigel Reo-Coker said he hoped the win against Mark Hughes' side would revive their fortunes.
"We have got the goal drought behind us now, we have got the losing streak behind us now and we are going to really drive on. This is going to kick-start our season," he said.
"As a team we knew we needed to win. The players were hurt about comments made in the press about us not performing up to standard.
"It is unfair for people to make comments like that when they don't see the effort and the work we put in on the training ground."
The Hammers face the Gunners at Upton Park on Saturday followed by a trip to the Riverside stadium to face Middlesbrough.
