Sunderland manager Steve Bruce admitted he has some tough selection choices for the weekend after his side's 4-1 defeat of Norwich City in the Carling Cup.
Bruce made nine changes from the team that beat Blackburn at the weekend and was impressed by a number of the players he drafted in.
"When you see people playing like that, with the enthusiasm they've shown, they've obviously asked a few questions," Bruce told Sky Sports.
"The game has given me a chance to look at all the players and they've played great.
"It gives me a headache - the players have responded magnificently over the last few weeks."
Scottish goalkeeper Craig Gordon made his return from long-term injury with a solid display in goal, whilst summer signing Fraizer Campbell was unlucky not to score with an acrobatic volley that hit the bar.
Andy Reid scored two of his side's goals with a sublime chip and an excellent finish after a concise passing move.
The Irish midfielder has worked with a personal trainer over the summer to improve his overall fitness and Bruce singled him out for praise after the match at Carrow Road.
He said: "Reid has made sure that he is back at his best, nobody can ever question his ability.
"He's worked tremendously well - fair play to him."
Norwich manager Paul Lambert admitted his side had been outclassed by Sunderland, but paid tribute to his team's spirit.
"All credit to them because they stuck at it. We never rolled over," he explained.
"I thought we started well but individual errors cost us and when you're playing that calibre of team you will get punished.
"You look at the players they've got and I saw their team sheet and it's very powerful. They'll have a decent season that's for sure."
