Michael Chopra believes his spark could return at Sunderland after the signing of winger Andy Reid.
The ex-Newcastle striker has been suffering from a run of poor play recently, scoring just three goals so far this season, but believes Reid could hold the key to his success, reports the BBC.
"What helps me is when people find my runs, and in Reid we've got a player who can," Chopra told BBC Radio Newcastle.
"At Cardiff we had Stephen McPhail and whenever I made a run he could find me and hopefully Reid can do this season."
The duo previously played together at Nottingham Forest and Reid has already made his mark on Sunderland fans in the Wigan game.
"I always knew how good a player Reid is. His passing ability is fantastic and I believe a lot of our players will benefit from that," said Chopra.
But the striker believes the fans still have a lot to see from the player.
Reid's appearance against Wigan was his debut for the northern club, since his £4 million signing from Charlton late in the January transfer window.
