David Beckham has been given the opportunity to return to the Premiership with West Ham showing an interest in the former England international.
West Ham's co-owner David Gold wants to bring Beckham back to the east end and is confident he will be able to finalise a deal. Beckham is believed to be able to return to football in around four months which would suit the Hammers.
Gold said: "David keeps on showing he still has so much to offer and if he's available then we want to be bidding. It's not only a case of what he can do on the pitch but what he does off it - he'd be a sensational ambassador for his home-town club.
"He's a local boy like the two owners and this could appeal to him. It's not fanciful as he has so much to offer. His arrival would be massive."
Manchester United are stepping up their pursuit of Valencia forward David Villa with the hope of signing the player before the World Cup. Villa who has an incredible scoring record for Valencia will almost certainly move away from Spain in the summer with United as the main favourite.
