Justice secretary Jack Straw will appear on the BBC's Question Time alongside British National Party (BNP) leader Nick Griffin, it has been confirmed.
Mr Straw will represent the Labour party on the show, due to be broadcast on October 22nd.
The BBC confirmed earlier this month that Mr Griffin had been invited to appear on the show, sparking a number of protests from anti-racism campaigners.
Labour MP Denis Macshane even called for his party to boycott the show.
However, on Sunday Mr Straw announced he would be appearing on the edition of Question Time, claiming it was the perfect platform to rebut the BNP's arguments.
"Wherever we have had BNP problems in my area and when we have fought them hard, we've pulled back and won the seats back. And that's what we have to do. We've got to make the argument for people and I am delighted to do so," he said.
The BNP won two seats in this summer's European Parliament elections.
