Stefan GP have shipped a container load of equipment to Bahrain for the first race of the 2010 formula one season, despite not having an entry.
Just days after Toyota agreed to provide the Serbian team with technical support, Stefan GP have sent a container of equipment to Bahrain in the hope that one of the new entries to the F1 world championship - Campos Meta, USF1, Lotus Racing or Virgin Racing - fail to make it to the season opener, which is scheduled for March 14th.
"On Friday January 29th we showed our spirit and how serious we are when we say that we are pushing to get the F1 entry in 2010," Stefan GP said in a statement.
"We are proud of our achievements and we have the willpower to keep going and to demonstrate that we belong in F1."
Doubts remain over USF1 and Campos Meta's ability to make it onto the grid in Bahrain, even though both teams have drivers on board.
USF1 announced last week that they had hired Jose Maria Lopez to drive for them in 2010, while Campos revealed at the end of last year, that 2008 GP2 runner-up Bruno Senna had joined their ranks.
However, there are fears that Campos' finances are not up to scratch and could lead to the Spanish team withdrawing from the sport - a move which would clear the way for Stefan GP.
