Tottenham midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has joined German giants Borussia Dortmund on loan.
The 21-year-old has failed to live up to his potential since arriving from Hertha Berlin last year.
Boateng fell out of favour with former Spurs boss Juande Ramos and was told to train with the reserves.
He was recalled into the first-team squad by Harry Redknapp and has made two appearances since the ex-Portsmouth boss's arrival.
Spurs are willing to loan out Boateng until the end of the season and the midfielder is keen to move on in search of first-team football.
Dortmund's general manager Michael Zorc said the 1997 Champions League winners have the option to make the loan move permanent.
"We have taken him on a six-month loan until the end of the season," Zorc told the club's official website.
"We want to watch him first (before taking a decision regarding a permanent move) because he has been going through a difficult period."
Boateng is one of several players Redknapp is keen on off-loading including Giovani Dos Santos, Ricardo Rocha, Hossam Ghaly, Gilberto and Adel Taarabt. This is despite him slamming the club's costly summer signings after the 1-0 defeat by Wigan Athletic.
