Andy Murray has risen two spots to number three in the world rankings following his run to the final of the Australian Open last week.
The Scot's quarter-final win over Rafael Nadal saw him leapfrog the Spaniard, who drops two spots to fourth, with Serbian Novak Djokovic jumping one place to second in the world.
Djokovic also suffered a quarter-final defeat - in five sets against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga - in Melbourne, but he still maintains a 510-point advantage over Murray in the rankings to sit behind world number one Roger Federer.
The Swiss star extends the gap between himself and the rest of the field to more than 3,000 ranking points following his 16th grand slam triumph in Australia.
Juan Martin del Potro stays fifth in the rankings after his fourth-round exit at the hands of semi-finalist Marin Cilic.
The Croatian, who lost to Murray in the last-four, is the biggest mover in the top 30 - gaining four places from 14th to enter the top ten.
