Andy Murray's first opponent in his bid to end the season on a high will be Juan Martin del Potro, it was announced today.
The first matches for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals were announced today, pitting UK number one Murray against the US Open champion.
The pair will meet in the first clash of group A at London's O2 Arena on Sunday afternoon.
World number one Roger Federer will enter the fray that evening, kicking off his campaign against Fernando Verdasco of Spain.
On Monday Rafael Nadal meets French Open foe Robin Soderling - the Swede became the first person to beat him at Roland Garros earlier this year - in group B.
Later that day last year's winner in Shanghai Novak Djokovic will face off against Russia's Nikolay Davydenko.
