A victorious Roger Federer praised Andy Murray by saying that the Scot is too good a player not to win a Grand Slam title.
The Swiss legend was speaking after clinching his 16th Grand Slam title, and his first as a father, by beating the Brit 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 in the final of the Australian Open.
After picking up the trophy and accepting a present of a cuddly Koala Bear toy from a ball girl, he told his beaten rival: "You're too good a player not to win a Grand Slam so don't worry about it."
The champion revealed that he thought he had played some of the best tennis of his life during the tournament and expressed the hope that his twin daughters would be able to watch him defend his title next year.
