Glen Jackson won the battle with Jonny Wilkinson to guide Saracens to a 44-14 win over Newcastle in the Guinness Premiership at Vicarage Road.
Jackson kicked four penalty kicks, a conversion, and a drop goal, while Wilkinson's try and two conversions was not enough to prevent the Falcons suffering their second loss of the season.
In a tight first-half, Jackson put the home side into a 15-0 lead at the break with four penalties.
In contrast, the second half was a thrilling affair with Kameli Ratuvou and then Kevin Sorrell scoring a try in the space of three minutes.
Hugh Vyvyan crashed over on the hour mark for Saracens' third try while Rodd Penney increased their lead on 64 minutes.
Gordon Ross sealed the rout with a try on 73 minutes with Jackson converting. Newcastle did not get off the mark until the 75th minute when Wilkinson crossed the line.
Tom May touched down a minute from time, with Wilkinson converting, but it was mere consolation. The defeat leaves Newcastle in tenth place while Saracens climb into seventh spot.
