World champions Leeds remain top of the Super League after thumping Harlequins 48-0 at Headingley.

The Rhinos were sensational in the first-half, scoring four tries with Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Jamie Peacock, Jordan Tansey, and Brent Webb crossing the line.

Leeds, who gave debuts to Ben Kaye and Simon Worrall along with a home debut to Luke Burgess, continued their onslaught in the second half.

Nick Scruton and Rob Burrow touched down, while in the last eight minutes Burgees and Kaye crashed over. Skipper Kevin Sinfield kicked eight goals to cap off a memorable display by the hosts, who bounced back from last week's shock loss to Castleford.

The win for the reigning champions puts them two points of second-placed Quins after six games.

Elsewhere, Hull eased their relegations fears with a 18-8 win over Wakefield at the KC Stadium.

Hull, who were tied 8-8 at the break, scored two tries through Todd Bryne while Danny Tickle kicked four goals.

The Wildcats scored a first-half try through Dale Ferguson, while Danny booted over two goals.

The result sees the home side move into joint ninth place while Wakefield slip into tenth place on four points.
