The Man of Steel shortlist has been announced for 2009 with last year’s winner James Graham nominated again.
Adrian Morley of Warrington and Huddersfield Giants’ Brett Hodgson have also been shortlisted for the prestigious prize.
Young prop Graham is the reigning Super League Man of Steel, the award being presented to the player who is deemed to have made the biggest impact on the season.
Thirty-one-year-old Hodgson is shortlisted in his first season in the Super League since he joined the Giants from NRL club Wests Tigers. The Australian was today named as Super League player of the year by the Rugby League Writers' Association.
Morley led Wolves to their first Challenge Cup final victory since 1974 with a win over Huddersfield at Wembley. Hodgson and Morley were both named in the 2009 engage Super League Dream Team earlier this week.
The Man of Steel award is decided by a poll of every Super League player and will be presented at a gala dinner in Manchester on Monday October 5th.
The Man of Steel dinner will also feature a series of awards including Super League coach of the year, Super League young player of the year and the Mike Gregory spirit of rugby league award.
