Salford City Reds have revealed that experienced second-rower Phillip Leuluai has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal to stay at the Willows until the end of 2010.

The 32-year-old New Zealand international has been linked with a number of other Super League clubs this season.

But he has announced today that he will remain with the Reds for another season, despite the club's failure to qualify for the playoffs in 2009.

He said: "I am really, really happy to be here next year.

"The fans and everybody at the club have been nothing but great with me and it will be a pleasure to play for the Reds in 2010.

Leuluai joined from NRL side Cronulla Sharks in 2007 and he said he is looking forward to another year in the Manchester area.

"My family are really settled in Salford," he continued.

"My boys play in the local amateur leagues and every since we moved to the city from Sydney we have been made to feel very much at home."

Despite being used largely in a replacement capacity this season, Leuluai remains a firm fans' favourite at the Willows - he is second on the club's metre-maker statistics with 2,347m this term and has the third-most carries in the squad.
