The victory was the Bulls' fifth in a row but ultimately was in vain after Catalans victory against St Helens denied them a place in the playoffs. The Bulls lead 12-6 at half time in their must-win game through tries from Michael Worrincy and Deacon, after Tom Briscoe's score had given Hull an early lead. They then pulled further ahead thanks to a Deacon penalty and a try from James Donaldson. Hull though fought back though with two converted tries, one from Briscoe again and another from Lee Radford, bringing the scores level at 18-18.
