Wakefield Wildcats full-back Matt Blaymire has committed himself to the club until the end of the 2011 season by signing a new two-year contract.
The former York City Knights player, 27, has been at the West Yorkshire club for three years.
And he has been rewarded for his excellent form in 2009, which head coach John Kear says makes Blaymire "one of the best full-backs in Super League".
"His game has come on a long way in his three years with us," Kear explained.
"He has been part of the club's development over those three years and he has been one of our best and most consistent performers in 2009."
Blaymire said: "As soon as I knew the club wanted me to stay there was only one place I was going to be next season and it was just a case of getting the deal sorted out.
"The team is going the right way and the signings that have been announced for next year should make for another really good season and I want to be a part of that."
In 68 Super League appearances for Wakefield, Blaymire has scored 21 tries and he won the club's 'Rising Star' award at the end of the 2007 season.
