Tony McCoy has won the Grand National on his 15th attempt at Aintree, riding Don't Push It.
In a closely fought race McCoy took the title ahead of Black Apalachi, ridden by Denis O'Regan, and State of Play in third, ridden by Paul Moloney.
Big Fella Thanks, who was joint favourite with Don't Push It, despite losing jockey Ruby Brown to a broken arm just an hour before the race, came in fourth with stand-in jockey Barry Geraghty.
Talking to the BBC after the race, McCoy, who today broke his Grand National hoodoo, said: "It's everything to win the Grand National. I have won lots of great races but I am supposed to be a great rider and to not have won it was a big gap in the CV. I am delighted."
The top four from the John Smith's Grand National were:
1. Don't Push It (Tony McCoy) 10-1
2. Black Apalachi (Denis O'Regan) 14-1
3. State of Play (Paul Moloney) 16-1
4. Big Fella Thanks (Barry Geraghty) 10-1
Don't Push It's trainer Jonjo O'Neill said after the race: "Brilliant, fantastic, I thought it would never happen to me but am delighted it's happened and I'm delighted for [owner] JP McManus, and AP [McCoy] and all the lads. It doesn't get much better."
