Celtic and Rangers prepared for title tilt

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan is preparing for a nervous night
Fans of Celtic and Rangers are gearing up for an exciting climax to the Scottish Premier League season tonight as both sides look to secure wins that could hand them the title.

Both sides are playing away from home, with the Bhoys - who have the upper hand over their Glasgow rivals - travelling to Dundee United and Rangers going to Aberdeen.

Pittodrie has proven to be a difficult ground to play at this season for many of the SPL's top teams, but the Gers must surely get three points if they are to wrest the domestic crown away from Celtic.

Walter Smith's men, who had led the way for much of the campaign, are looking to prevent the Parkhead outfit making it two titles in a row.

But last week's slip-up against Motherwell, when they could manage only a 1-1 draw at Fir Park, handed the initiative to their rivals.

Celtic hold a four-goal advantage on goal difference and provided they win and Rangers do not trounce the Dons, the title is heading to the east end of Glasgow.

However, any kind of stumble by Gordon Strachan's side will give the Light Blues the chance to reclaim the spot at the summit and keep them on course for a domestic treble.

Rangers face Queen of the South on Saturday in the Scottish Cup final, having already won the League Cup earlier in the season.

They narrowly missed out on an unprecedented quadruple when they lost 2-0 to Zenit St Petersburg in the Uefa Cup final in Manchester a week ago.End of story
