Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali is disappointed that third place in the constructors' championship eluded the team by a single point.
Domenicali congratulated the Ferrari team on the hard work in 2009, despite it being a difficult season for the team, during which they only secured a single race victory.
Ferrari held onto third spot in the constructors' championship for most of the season, but a late charge from the McLaren team and Lewis Hamilton snatched the place from them
In a statement, Domenicali said: "It's disappointing to see third place in the constructors' championship elude us by a single point, but we have to accept the verdict dished out on track.
"I wish to congratulate the entire team who, despite the difficult situation, continued to keep their concentration up, getting on with their work with determination and tenacity.
"Now we must continue to work on the design of the new car, because we have a very simple aim: that of getting back to being in the fight for race wins."
The Ferrari team principal congratulated and thanked Kimi Raikkonen for his contribution to the team and he wished he could have provided the Finn could have ended his stint with the team in a competitive car.
"This was Kimi's last race with us and again he gave it his all," said Domenicali.
"We are very disappointed that this year, we did not give him a competitive car and I thank him for never having thrown in the towel, in fact, fighting even harder when the situation was at its trickiest.
"I am proud of our drivers, as I am of everyone who works in our team and I am sure that every one of them will know how to learn the right lessons from this season and will be even more motivated to try and redeem themselves immediately."
Raikkonen is yet to sign a deal with a team for 2010, although he has been linked to a move to McLaren after ruling out a switch to Toyota.
Double world champion Fernando Alonso will move to from Renault to Maranello in place of the Finn and will partner the still recovering Felipe Massa.
