Gennaro Gattuso has rejected rumours linking him with a move to Manchester City in the January transfer window.
Reports in national newspapers suggested that the AC Milan midfielder would be on his way to Manchester in the near future, but the player has confirmed that he will not be leaving Italy any time soon.
City will also test the resolve of Tottenham and try to secure the services of David Bentley for around £8m.
The former Arsenal starlet has endured a tough time at White Hart Lane and would relish the chance to start his career over at a top Premier League club.
Robinho's imminent arrival at Barcleona has prompted club captain Carlos Puyol to suggest that the player is not needed at the club.
Puyol said: "Robinho is a great player but we have great players in his position like Thierry Henry or Andres Iniesta, who can also play on the wing. I think we have a complete squad."
Liverpool could be forced to sell as many as four players in January so the wage bill can be reduced, but manager Rafa Benitez has warned the club that if he is forced to sell star striker Fernando Torres he will resign.
