Manchester City look to be on the verge of expanding their attacking options with a double signing of two of the world's biggest names.
The club are preparing to splash out an estimated £50 million to secure the signatures of Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o and former Manchester United forward Carlos Tevez.
In other news on the striker transfer market, AC Milan have warned Chelsea they are prepared to turn down big bids to keep hold of Alexandre Pato.
The Brazil striker has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge but Milan have revealed that bids for Pato have already been rejected and they are reluctant to part with the talented youngster.
Elsewhere, Inter Milan right-back Maicon wants a new contract if he is to remain at the San Siro, with Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid all sniffing around the Confederations Cup-winning defender.
And finally Manchester United are on the verge of completing a deal to bring Wigan winger Luis Antonio Valencia to Old Trafford for a fee of around £16 million.
