Manchester City's spending spree has been mostly rumours up until now, but the next few days are likely to see some new arrivals actually putting pen to paper.
The Premier League's big-spenders are close to tying up a deal for West Ham star Craig Bellamy, who is due to have a medical at Eastlands in the next 24 hours after the clubs agreed a fee.
Bellamy is also rumoured to be speaking to Spurs over a move, after the Londoners matched City's bid.
However, the Welshman is thought to have had his head turned by the money on offer in Manchester despite admitted last week that Harry Redknapp's side would have been his first choice destination.
Hamburg midfielder Nigel de Jong is also on the verge of joining City, with only an agreement on personal terms standing in the way of a move.
Less clear-cut situations persist elsewhere, however, with a number of big names being linked - including Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery and AS Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi - to add to the ongoing saga involving AC Milan playmaker Kaka.
