West Ham's hopes of landing Charlton's Darren Bent wobbled today after reports that Tottenham have made an undisclosed bid for the striker.
The 23-year-old's £75,000-a-week deal seemed all but assured and this morning's papers seemed to think it was a dead cert, but his move is now under a cloud of doubt yet again.
Liverpool have been a bit cheeky with their latest transfer attempt. According to the Mirror they have offered just £1 million for Yossi Benayoun, a move condemned by West Ham as "insulting".
On the continent, the thrilling climax to this season's La Liga isn't distracting Real Madrid from transfer machinations. Jerzy Dudek of Liverpool is reportedly the subject of talks after being frozen out of Rafa Benitez's first-team plans.
And another potential Premiership player heading to Europe could be Kanu, who has been linked with a move from Portsmouth to Ajax in the Daily Mail.
Tal Ben Haim, the Israeli international defender, looks like he will be moving from Bolton to Chelsea on a free transfer, despite interest in the player from Sam Allardyce at Newcastle United.
In other transfer gossip, Portsmouth are hoping to lure back Yakubu from Middlesbrough with the promise of a cash-plus-players exchange.
