Today's hot-off-the-press transfer rumours. Some spot on. A few still in the balance. Others best taken with the proverbial pinch of salt.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has again moaned about the difficulties he faces as manager of his club, saying he has received little help from the Blues board about his desire to bring in a central defender.
Perhaps yesterday's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool might help his bosses come round to his way of thinking.
"I'm never allowed to do what I want because I'm the manager," Mourinho said.
Middlesbrough have signed South Korean striker Lee Dong-Gook, but the deal might fall through if the government rejects his request for a work permit.
The Lion King may have been the top scorer in the K-League but, as he has not played in the required 75 per cent of his country's games over the last year to qualify for a permit, the transfer might not work out.
In European football, Juventus have revealed they are keen on signing Liverpool star Steven Gerrard this summer
Upon their likely promotion to Serie A Juve would fancy their chances with Gerrard partnering Pavel Nedved in central midfield.
Meanwhile Wigan boss Paul Jewell will be hoping to brush away yet another defeat by snapping up West Ham striker Marlon Harewood for a reported £3 million.
Paul LeGuen, now at Paris Saint Germain after his departure from the Gers earlier this month, is interested in luring Jeremy Clement with him.
And Birmingham are apparently rather keen on Matthew Upson.
