Chris Samba is to undergo hospital tests after missing Blackburn Rovers' victory over Fulham yesterday (January 14th).
The centre-back texted the club doctor on Friday after complaining of stomach cramps, according to his manager Steve Kean.
The illness could scupper any move away from the club after the defender told French newspaper L'Equipe that he wanted to move on to a new challenge.
"Chris will be at the hospital either tonight or tomorrow morning. Just for tests, because he has complained of severe stomach cramps. He texted the doctor to say he was feeling unwell. He is not for sale," said Kean.
The Ewood Park boss went on to confirm that his club had rejected a bid for the giant Congolese star, believed to be from Tottenham, and they were not willing to part with their man.
"We had a bid for Chris Samba from one club, we refused the bid and our statement is there for everyone to see. He is not for sale," added Kean.
The under-fire manager lifted the pressure on his shoulders yesterday after Rovers beat Fulham 3-1, moving the side to 17th and out of the relegation zone in the process.
