Former England captain David Beckham has been ommitted from the MLS All-Star line-up, despite helping to guide LA Galaxy through the play-offs.
Beckham, who has been instrumental in his side's recent successes despite only making 11 out of a possible 32 appearances, misses out on a place - even after setting up LA's crucial opening goal in their 2-0 win over Houston that sealed a place in the MLS Cup final.
Galaxy team-mate Landon Donovan and former Arsenal and West Ham midfielder Freddie Ljungberg made it a debut season in America to remember by being selected in the side, announced by MLS commissioner Don Garber during his annual state of the league address.
The Best XI recognises the league's top 11 players at each position on the field, and is voted by the media, MLS players and MLS coaches and general managers.
