AC Milan midfielder David Beckham is looking forward to his return to Old Trafford to play former club Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Beckham, 34, spent 11 years at Old Trafford before leaving for Real Madrid in 2003 and will this week play at the Theatre of Dreams for the first time since his departure.
Currently on loan at AC Milan from the Los Angeles Galaxy, Beckham returns to Old Trafford with his side trailing Sir Alex Fergison's side 3-2 after the first leg.
"If I play on Wednesday I won't be frightened but I will be excited because I played in that stadium for many years and I know what it means to be a Manchester United player," Beckham told Milanese TV ahead of this week's Champions League clash.
"I know what it means for opponents to play there."
Though United talisman Wayne Rooney has struggled with a knee injury since playing in England's recent friendly with Egypt, Beckham said he expects his international team-mate to appear this week.
"I'm sure Rooney will play," Beckham commented. "I think he's had some problems in the last few days but he had the whole weekend to recover.
"He's a fine player and he'll want to participate in the match. Alex Ferguson will certainly use the best possible formation."
