By Michael Younger.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have released the match programme for the 2010 season.

Following the unpopular early start to this summer's programme, England's international season will start three weeks later in 2010 when the team line up at Lord's for the first Test against Bangladesh.

Four days after the close of play at Lord's, the teams will head to Old Trafford for the second Test, before England travel further north to take on Scotland in Edinburgh as they continue their build up ahead of the one-day internationals against Australia and Bangladesh.

The ECB have agreed with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Cricket Australia (CA) to host a programme of cricket between Pakistan and Australia because of the delicate political situation in Pakistan.

Two Twenty20 Internationals will be played at Edgbaston on July 5th and 6th, followed by Test matches at Lord's and Headingley starting on July 13th and June 21st respectively.

The Rose Bowl, home of Hampshire, will be the venue for the ever popular Twenty20 finals day on August 14th while the final round of County Championship matches, to be played between September 13th and 16th, and the new ECB 40-over final at Lord's on September 18th will provide an exciting climax to the domestic season.
