Sir Paul McCartney will conclude his first European tour in five years with a show at London's O2 Arena, it has been confirmed.

The Good Evening Europe tour will take in seven cities, including Hamburg where the Beatles honed their craft with scores of live performances in the early 60s.

The seven-date tour also takes in Berlin and Paris and follows the 67-year-old's sell-out US tour this summer.

Tickets go on sale on Monday October 26th and start at £55 each.

"This is my chance to bring our current show home to where it all began," said Sir Paul after announcing the tour.

"Starting in Hamburg, ending in London and rocking everywhere in between. I'm very much looking forward to ending the year on a high."

The London leg of the tour on December 22nd at the O2 Arena comes exactly 46 years to the day since the Beatles played their first Christmas gig at Liverpool's Empire Theatre.

It will also be the first time McCartney has played at the Greenwich venue, with his last UK arena show coming at London's Earl's Court in April 2003.

The dates of the Good Evening Europe tour are:

December 2nd - Hamburg Color Line Arena

December 3rd - Berlin O2 World

December 9th - Arnhem Gelredome

December 10th - Paris Bercy

December 16th - Cologne Koln Arena

December 20th - Dublin O2

December 22nd - London O2 Arena
