Police have launched a double murder inquiry following the discovery of two female bodies in Shrewsbury in the early hours of today.
Earlier in the day, West Mercia police closed off the town's centre, with traffic barred from entering as they searched an address in the Frankwell area.
They are appealing for witnesses to come forward who were in the area either last night or this morning, but at this "early stage", investigators do not yet know the cause of death.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Frankwell area who may have seen or heard anything unusual, however insignificant it may appear to be," a force spokesman said.
As well as Frankwell centre, the nearby Welsh Bridge was also closed off, causing traffic congestion in and around the city.
