An unbeaten century from Shivnarine Chanderpaul guided the West Indies to an eight wicket win over Ireland in Jamaica.
The former Windies skipper smashed 102 off 113 balls to give the World Cup hosts crucial points which will be carried through to the Super Eight stage.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Ireland were skittled out for 183 with opener Jeremy Bray top scoring with 41.
The game was reduced to 48 overs per side after a rain delay towards the end of Ireland's innings.
Ireland made a nightmare start to their innings with William Porterfield out for a duck after edging a delivery to slip from the bowling of Daren Powell.
The minnows' middle order crumbled with Eion Morgan (18), Niall O'Brien (11), and Andre Botha (28) all failing to build on solid starts.
Bray smashed seven boundaries in his knock before being dismissed by Jerome Taylor.
Ireland's lower order showed little resistance with skipper Kyle McCallan making an unbeaten 20 to steer his side to a modest target.
The Windies shared out the wickets with Powell, Dwayne Bravo, and Chris Gayle finishing with two apiece.
In reply, the Windies whacked 24 off the first four overs before Gayle was dismissed by Dave Langford-Smith.
But Guyana duo Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan put on a stand of 119 to edge them close to their target of 184.
Sarwan made 36 before being dismissed by McCallan but Chanderpaul dominated the strike, smashing ten boundaries and four sixes on his way to a ton.
The win sees the Windies maintain their 100 per cent start to the tournament.
