Murdered students Laurent Bonomo and Gabriel Ferez
Police have arrested a man after the deaths of 23-year-old French students Bonomo and Gabriel Ferez in New Cross.

Scotland Yard said at approximately 03.40 BST on Saturday a 21-year-old man was arrested in the street in southeast London in connection with the murder enquiry.

He is now in custody at a southeast London police station.

The students were found after their flat was set on fire on Thursday. Their badly burned bodies had hundreds of stab wounds.

Police are urging witnesses to come forward. Yesterday, detective chief inspector Mick Duthie, who is leading the investigation into the murders, said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who has recently been offered the a laptop and two personal game consoles, or knows someone who has unexpectedly come to have them.

"Laurent Bonomo said he was in the shower when he heard a suspicious noise.
He found the window of his living room forced open and his laptop was stolen.

"The search of the address is not yet completed, but we have established that two Sony PSPs are missing and believe they were taken during the incident on Sunday when the two men were killed.

"Anyone with any information should contact the incident room on 020 8721 4155; if you wish to remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111," the police added.End of story
