Ferrari's Michael Schumacher has insisted he can end Fernando Alonso's three-race winning streak at the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend.
The seven-time champion has been locked it a tussle with the current world champion all season but it has been the Renault driver who had come out on top in Spain, Monte Carlo and Britain.
However, the German is adamant that the team has the package to dislodge Alonso at the top and close the gap in the drivers' championship.
"The circuit is totally different from the recent ones and we will be using completely different aerodynamics packages," Schumacher said.
"I see no reason whatsoever why we shouldn't do well in Canada."
Alonso currently sits 23 points ahead of Schumacher, while the gap between Renault and Ferrari in the constructors' championship is 31 points.
None of the Formula One teams test at the Montreal circuit so Schumacher will be hoping to use his experience, and the fact that he has won the race seven times, to his advantage.
"We have every reason to be optimistic as nobody knows exactly what to expect in Canada because no team has tested here and has insights to go by," Schumacher added.
"So everything is completely different now except our fighting spirit, which has been refreshed perfectly."
Schumacher had to settle for second spot in last year's race, which was won by McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen.
