Michael Schumacher has succesfully completed his test at the Mugello circuit in Italy.
After spending the early part of last week in the Ferrari simulator, the seven-time world champion continued his training programme by visiting the Italian circuit for a private test in Ferrari's 2007 spec car.
And Schumacher said he was pleased to be back behind the wheel of a formula one car.
"It's a great thing getting back on the track with an F1, even if this was a car from 2007 from the F1 Clienti department with slicks usually used in GP2 and obviously there is no real point of reference," said Schumacher.
"After a couple of laps I was able to drive consistent lap times and I'm happy with the performance."
"Now we've got to see how my body and the muscles respond in the next days."
The rest of Schumacher's training regime is yet to be defined by Ferrari, but the team have already asked the FIA and the other F1 teams to permit the German to test in this year's F60 before the European grand prix in three weeks time.
