Four young girls are said to be among the victims after a deadly bomb blast at a Pakistan school.
At least ten people are reported to have been killed, including three US marines, in the attack on a convoy heading to a girl's school in the north-west of the country.
The blast in Lower Dir, near the border with Afghanistan, has also left around 70 people, including 63 school girls, injured.
A group of foreign journalists and aid workers are said to have been travelling in the army convoy to witness the opening of the girls' school, with the AFP news agency claiming Pakistan prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has already condemned the attack and ordered an investigation.
Today's attack is reported to have been a response to the military offensive launched against Taliban insurgents last year, driving them out of Lower Dir and neighbouring districts.
On Tuesday at least 29 people were killed in a suspected US drone attack in the North Waziristan region.
