Saracens booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup with a 21-17 win over Glasgow at Hughenden.

The London side reach the last eight of the European Cup for the first time in their history and end the Warriors' slim hopes of qualifying.

Saracens made an explosive start with Richard Haughton running onto a loose ball to cross the line while Glen Jackson booted over two penalties.

Scotland fly-half Dan Parks kicked three penalties to see the Warriors trail 9-11. But Jackson touched down with an interception try on the stroke of half-time to give the visitors an 18-9 lead at the break.

The Warriors threatened a fightback when Thom Evans won a lineout and jinked past two players before sending Bernardo Stortoni clear to crash over.

Parks then slotted over a penalty which was cancelled out by Jackson as the Guinness Premiership side clung on for victory.

The win for Saracens sees them finish top of their pool with five wins from their six matches.

Elsewhere in pool four, Biarritz booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 25-16 win over Viadana at the Parc des Sports Aguilera.

The French side touched down four times, including a brace from Takudzwa Ngwenya, to finish second in the table with four wins and two defeats.
