Southampton produced one of the shocks of the FA Cup fourth round by beating Championship side Ipswich 2-1 at St Mary's Stadium.
The south coast side took the lead through a stunning 20-yard volley from Wayne Thomas just after the half hour mark before Michail Antonio doubled their lead in the 71st minute. Ipswich could only produce a consolation goal in injury time from Pablo Counago.
Elsewhere, Birmingham turned out 2-1 winners in the all-Premier league affair against Everton at Goodison Park.
The Blues stretched their unbeaten run to 15 games thanks to first half strikes from Christian Benetiz and Barry Ferguson while a second half effort from Everton's Leon Osman wasn't enough to force a comeback against the Premier leagues in-form team.
