Wayne Rooney has taunted title rivals Chelsea by insisting the Blues' star-studded squad will hinder their bid for a third straight Premiership crown.
Following yesterday's 1-1 draw between Manchester United and the Blues, the pundits have said Sir Alex Ferguson's squad is not big enough to sustain a title challenge.
Striker Louis Saha and midfield maestro Cristiano Ronaldo are doubts for Wednesday's match with Everton after picking up injuries against Jose Mourinho's side.
Bur Rooney, who signed a lucrative six-year deal at Old Trafford at the weekend, said Chelsea's high-profile substitutes could disrupt the spirit at Stamford Bridge.
"The only real difference between the two clubs is that they have spent millions on players and some of those are sitting on the bench, whereas we haven't quite spent the amounts they have," Rooney said.
"We said before the season having those players on the sidelines could unsettle them a little bit.
"We have young players on the bench, we are gelling together well and that can only be good for us."
United have yet to travel to the Emirates stadium, Anfield, and Stamford Bridge in their bid to win the title for the first time since 2003.
The England striker, who has bagged seven goals this season, added that the Red Devils need to win these heavyweight away matches to clinch the championship.
"If you want to take the Premiership, you have to do well in those matches," Rooney said.
"If we can do that we will leave ourselves in a good position for the end of the season.
"They will be tough games but this club has shown we can lift ourselves for the big matches so we will be looking to do that again."
