Castleford completed a sensational comeback to beat Warrington 36-28 in Super League at the Halliwell Jones stadium.

The Tigers overturned a 14-point deficit to snatch victory with three tries in the last ten minutes.

The win for the Tigers sees them close the gap on 11th placed Hull to two points while Warrington's sixth defeat in their last seven games means they stay in seventh spot.

Warrington coach Paul Cullen started with prop Adrian Morley, scrum-half Michael Monaghan and second-rower Ben Westwood.

Meanwhile, Tigers boss Terry Matterson welcomed back Matt Cook, Peter Lupton, Ryan Clayton, and Brent Sherwin.

But Ryan Boyle, Tom Harberecht and Anthony Thackeray all missed out.

The Tigers made an explosive start and took the lead on six minutes when Richard Owen crashed over.

The visitors then increased their lead when Michael Shenton touched down 13 minutes later, with Joe Westerman adding the extras.

This sparked the home side into action and they got off the mark with two tries in three minutes. First, Vinnie Anderson dived under the posts while Riley scored the Wolves' second, with Hicks slotting over a goal.

But the Tigers took a 14-10 lead into the break when Adam Fletcher crossed the line on the stroke of half-time.

The roles were reversed in the second half with Warrington making the brighter start. They reduced their deficit on 46 minutes when Riley crashed over for his second try, with Hicks booting over the extras to give his side a 16-14 lead.

By now the momentum was fully in the hands of the home side and they scored their fourth try when Kevin Penny finished off a sweeping move to score on 54 minutes, with Hicks adding the extras.

Five minutes later, Hicks got in the act and scored a try to give the Wolves a 14-point lead.

But the Tigers started the comeback on 68 minutes when Michael Wainwright touched down.

Castleford then stunned Warrington by scoring two tries in two minutes through Luke Dorn and Stuart Donlan to level the scores.

Dorn grabbed his second try on 79 minutes, either side of goals from Craig Huby and Westerman, to seal a memorable win for the Tigers.
